Patterns in Nature

Today, I took a little break from scrapbooking to share a nice brunch and hike with my husband and daughter.
I got the chance to enjoy my other favorite hobby....photography.
I have always been facinated with the wonders of nature and the organic patterns that can be found. Sometimes you have to stop and look closely, but it's always there to be found.

One goal down, one more to go!

A quick layout using a Scrap Muse monthly kit. So easy to make layouts with kits, everything is already coordinated!

Our cutie pie, Sienna Jo, and her polka dotted puppy.

Anyway...BIG NEWS!!!!
Just found out today that I made another Design Team! YEAH!

That makes 2 DTs and 2 Guest Designer spots so far...

Should I tempt the scrapbook goddess and enter any more DT Calls????

I have to think about that one!

So, my goal this year was to make at least 2 Design teams. Check!

My other (scrapbooking) goal is to get published in a magazine. I guess I should work on that?

I'm expecting it to be a hard week, health wise, hopefully I will be able to update you with some new layouts, but I don't expect to be in the creating mood.

Thanks for checking in.

How girly are you?? I'm 64%

You Are 64% Girly
You're a pretty girly chick, and you're not ashamed to admit it (or wear pink). But you're also practical. You can hang with the guys, as long as they're not too gross!

Scrapbook Convention exhaustion...

I spent 4 hours shopping at the CK Scrapbook Convention in Portland today! My great friend, Diane and I carpooled, while my WONDERFUL husband watched Sienna and Chloe (Diane's daughter) for us at home. Thanks Dave!
Nothing too exciting to see, I have been keeping pretty current on what's new and out in the stores, so no big surprises.
I did spend ALL the cash I brought with me. There were a few BIG priced items, but it was worth it. I spent $40 on an "Fancy Pants" acrylic stamp set. It has more than a dozen stamps on it and measures 12x12, so I think it was worth the buy. I haven't seen it in stores around here, so I figure I better get one, while I can.
I did get a couple of paper assortment stacks, one from Scenic Route "Laurel" and one from SEI " Morning Meadow". Not many stores in this area have these paper packs, usually they sell them per peice.
I did get a FREE embellishment glue stick, from the pioneer company, just for listening to the guy talk about their new snap in scrapbooks.
I am exhausted...once we cleaned up the mess made by the girls, and Diane and Chloe went home, I crashed on the recliner! I'm sure my feet will pay for it tomorrow.
Anyway, that is my review of the convention. I think I did enough shopping today to last me for the next couple months -well maybe :)
thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Today I turned 21 years old! :) Not really, but I think this is when people start lying about their age.
No party for me...but I did get a yummy Almond Roca Birthday cake! And some wonderful cards from all my family and friends! :) The best being Sienna's hand drawn card. Gotta love those handmade presents! She is very crafty and artistic like her Mommy.
The gifts will be spent on Friday, when I hit the scrapbook convention in town. Can't wait!! Hoping to find some new stamps, idea books, and of course paper.
My hubby Dave took the pic of me and Sienna, with my cake (oops- you can see my age) ...oh well. I don't really feel 35. :) Except for those darn lines on my forehead. I have great genes though- you should see my Mom- she is one sexy lady!
Well, thanks for all the great b-day wishes!
Until next time...Mel

Scrapbook convention this week!

Not much to say...another weekend trip ruined because of sickness. We planned on taking a weekend trip to the beach, but Sienna's cold just got to bad to go anywhere.
I did get some scrapping done though. The LO above is for a kit challenge, for one of the online kit clubs that I am in. Only one other person entered, so I have a good chance of getting that $25 gift certificate to the store.

The BIG event is coming up this weekend! The CK Scrapbook Convention and the Oregon Convention Center. I can't wait to get shopping! So glad my birthday coincides with this event..."please just sent a check if you want to give me a gift"- is what I usually tell my family.
Can't wait to see all the new stuff!

Well, better go so I can catch the new episode of "Heros".

thanks for stopping by :)

Welcome Spring!
